Our Favorite Tips for Longer Lasting Flowers

There’s nothing better than bringing home fresh flowers and watching them brighten up your space. Whether it’s a bouquet for a special occasion or just because, proper flower care can make a big difference in how long your blooms last. Here are a few of our favorite simple tips to help you enjoy your flowers even longer!

1. Get Your Flowers in Water Quickly

Fresh flowers should go into water as soon as possible. Before placing them in a vase, give the stems a fresh cut at an angle to help them absorb water more efficiently. We also recommend trimming the stems every day or every other day for the best vase life.

2. Use Flower Food Properly

Flower food really does help! Be sure to follow the packet instructions carefully so the mixture is not too strong or too diluted. The right balance helps nourish your flowers and keeps the water cleaner longer.

3. Refresh the Water Regularly

One of the easiest ways to extend the life of your flowers is by changing the water every 1–3 days. Fresh, clean water helps prevent bacteria buildup and keeps blooms looking fresher longer.

4. Keep Flowers Cool

Flowers last best in cooler environments. If possible, place them in a cool or darker area away from direct sunlight, heat vents, or warm rooms. Cooler temperatures help slow the blooming process and preserve your arrangement.

With just a little extra care, your flowers can stay beautiful for days longer. We hope these tips help you enjoy your blooms to the fullest!
